Connection Issues to Our Asian Data Centre

There were connection problems to our Asian data centre between 2022-04-08 14:03 UTC and 2022-04-08 19:36 UTC. This was caused by an outage at one of our service providers in Asia.

Our monitoring systems picked up the problem early and within ten minutes of initial reports, we switched our Asian ad serving traffic elsewhere to avoid the issue. Within that ten minute window, some impressions would have been lost and others delayed. After the ten-minute window when Asian traffic was re-routed, all impressions were served but not at the usual speed due to travelling a longer route.

As of 2022-04-08, 19:36 UTC, all Asian ad serving traffic has been routed back to our usual Asian data centre and our usual speedy impressions have been restored.

Asian API and UI requests were not re-routed during this period because it corresponded with low usage times for our Asian customers. Any Asian customers using the API or UI would have experienced slower than normal responses from our services or some responses that would have been dropped entirely.
